In a typical East African school, there is a large chalkboard at one end of the classroom. There are no pictures on the walls, no children’s artwork, no science experiments in progress, no maps, and no library books in the corner. There is a small, one-room office for the head teacher which also serves as teachers’ lounge, one small cabinet for storage for student workbooks, and a library with fewer than 10 books.
Books can change a child's life. Most school and school libraries in East Africa have few books to offer to students hungry for knowledge. It's not unusual to see 5 or 6 kids sharing a book.

$25 will provide 5 more books and make it easier for a child to learn. $100 helps provide 20 books to fill that hunger for learning.
